Karen Richardson-Scarfe

Qualifications:  BSc sp Hons Genetics, MMedSci, NVQ3 in Childcare Learning and Development, Early Years Professional Status, First Aid and Child Protection.

All about Karen: Karen Richardson-Scarfe worked as a Management Consultant specialising in Change Management and Facilitation for 8 years. Prior to that Karen worked in a variety of roles within HSBC.

In 2003 Karen established Childcare4u in Marlow and Beaconsfield with Nicola Strachan and has been passionate about providing excellent quality childcare at an affordable price and supporting women going back to work. Karen has worked to develop a childcare philosophy which not only supplies excellent quality childcare at an affordable price, but enables parents and in particular, mothers to return to the work place safe and secure in the knowledge that their child is well cared for in a loving and stimulating environment.

One of Karen’s core beliefs is that women should have the opportunity to return to work without feeling guilty or worried that their child will not flourish or be well cared for. In addition, Karen feels that children should have the opportunity to learn and develop through play with other children and their carers.

After 10 years running Childcare4u Karen decided to extend the philosophy of quality childcare in order to support working parents when their child starts school.  WrapAroundCare4u will work in partnership with parents and schools to provide the children with an enriched programme of exercise, education and fun, at either end of the day.  Not only will the needs of parents and children be met, but this partnership will also represent a significant source of additional funds for schools.

Karen is married with four children and lives in Marlow.
