FAQ

My School offers your WrapAroundCare4u service – how do I find out more?

–       Please feel free to contact either the WACU manager on site or via the office on 01628 857628 or email [email protected]

My School doesn’t use WrapAroundCare4u  service – can my children attend another school?

–       One of the fundamental beliefs of WAC4U is that the children are cared for in familiar surroundings with their peers, so we cater for the children from the school site only.

–       If you feel there would be sufficient demand at your school, please speak to Karen Richardson-Scarfe or Sam Kelly on 01628 857628 and we will investigate the possibility of setting up the service at your school.

My child attends regularly, but I need a one-off extra session – will this be possible?

–       If there is availability at the session you require this should not be a problem.  Use the online booking system.

I would like to alter the sessions attended by my children

–       Please email your setting with the changes you require. Please take note of the notice period required which is stated in the Welcome Pack. We aim to confirm if there is availability for your new session pattern within 3 working days.

My child attends the school but does not come to WrapAroundCare4u  service – I have an emergency which requires care out of school hours, can they attend?

–       If there is availability the manager will request that you register on the online booking system  and will then assist with your booking.

Are all staff DBS/CRB checked?

–       All staff have a current enhanced DBS/CRB (Disclosure and Barring Service/Criminal Record Bureau) check to ensure their suitability to work with children.  The only exceptions are staff who have just joined WrapAroundCare4u and students on placement from the local schools.  In these temporary situations staff and/or students are never left unsupervised with the children at any time.

–       Karen Richardson-Scarfe is responsible for countersigning DBS applications and the process typically takes between 4 and 6 weeks from start to receipt of DBS.

How experienced are the WrapAroundCare4u Managers?

–       The Managers at WrapAroundCare4u are qualified to at least NVQ level three in Childcare and Education, hold child protection and first aid qualifications, as well as a range of other related qualifications, and have childcare experience gained from working at a range of childcare providers.

–       The Manager are ably supported and managed by Karen Richardson-Scarfe and Sam Kelly – see above for their qualifications and experience.

Do staff have first aid training?

–       Approximately 80% of our staff hold a current 12-hour paediatric first aid certificate.  We hold 12-hour first aid courses at WrapAroundCare4u once a year, and use team training meetings to educate all of our staff on managing accidents, administration of medicines and other health and safety related issues.
